Sensor and Systems Production Technician, Starrett Bytewise

Starrett-Bytewise Measurement Systems is seeking individuals with engineering technology education and/or related prior experience for a Sensor and Systems Production Technician position. The successful candidate will prepare for assembly and assemble Starrett-Bytewise's range of laser-based sensors. Secondary responsibilities will include assembling systems using the sensors and various production-related administrative tasks. The ability to follow work orders and procedures and work under deadlines is paramount. Candidate will regularly use computer software (spreadsheets, ERP system, production-related applications, etc.). Candidate should have good interpersonal skills reflecting responsiveness, respect, courteousness and skill when working with co-workers, external contractors and customers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Sensor component prep. (laser wiring, lens/filter assembly, glass/mirror installation, etc.)
  • Sensor assembly, labeling and packaging.
  • Sensor calibration and qualification.
  • Production data entry and reporting using spreadsheets and ERP software.
  • Sensor-related cable testing.
  • Production administrative tasks – shipping and receiving, inventory stocking, etc.
  • System assembly including installing sensors, cable routing, light electrical wiring, hardware assembly, etc.

Education:

Engineering Technology related Bachelors or Associates degrees (Engineering Technology, Technical Studies, Industrial Systems, etc.), Electronics Technology, etc.

Salary:

$26k - $30k, Commensurate with education, experience and skill set

Application Engineer - Profile 360 and Related Products, Starrett Bytewise

Starrett Bytewise (1880) is seeking individuals with engineering, business and/or prior applications (product) experience for an Application Engineer position. The successful candidate will deploy industrial non-contact (laser-based) measurement applications to a wide range of customers. Although not required, software experience can enhance the candidate’s qualifications. Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills reflecting responsiveness, respect, courteousness and skill when working with customers, external contractors and co-workers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide product installation, commissioning and integration support to customers.
  • Provide product training to customers.
  • Provide technical sales support (on-site demo’s, etc.)
  • Provide technical service and support (“Level 1 & 2” support, application “guru”, etc.)
  • Develop and maintain product documentation.
  • Interface with manufacturing group to ensure product delivery.
  • Interface with engineering and software group for product enhancements.
  • Develop and implement product training program for customers and internal sales, manufacturing and service groups.
  • Develop product functional specifications.
  • Develop and implement product release.
  • Monitor product performance.
  • Maintain and evaluate market information.

Education:

BIE, BEE, BCS preferred

$45k - $65k, commensurate with education, experience and skill set

The L. S. Starrett Company (1880) “World’s Greatest Toolmaker” is conducting a job search for a successful and experienced Factory Sales Representative for our Tool Division (Precision Measurement, Gages, Surface Roughness, Optical Comparators & Vision Systems).

The ideal candidate for this field sales position is motivated to sell and to travel. Sales geography for this territory encompasses the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska and part of Idaho.

Requisite Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in manufacturing: 5 years
  • Working familiarity and contacts within key Northwest manufacturers.
  • Technical aptitude, dimensional, measurement proficiency.
  • Thick skin, able to deal with the rejection inherent to a sales position.
  • Experience working with or for an industrial distributors.
  • Strong work ethic, self motivated to achieve goals.
  • Excellent computer skills; Word, Excel and ACT.

  • Build and maintain beneficial relationships with distribution.
