With bi-metal unique® Saw Technology for Faster Cutting and Longer Blade Life
(Editors Note: In January 2009, Prod DieSaw Blades were renamed Intenss DIE-PRO as part of our band saw line reorganization)

Die Pro, our latest series of band saw blades, was developed specifically for contour cutting on vertical machines. These blades are particularly well suited for maintenance and tool room environments and general-purpose sawing. They also work well with light-duty horizontal machines.

Contour Cutting on Vertical Machines
Primary applications include tool, die and mold steels, carbon steels, low alloy and nonferrous materials, and aluminum. Die Pro blades cut a variety of shapes, solids and tubing. They provide excellent wear, heat, abrasion and shock resistance.

Die Pro blades are available in a variety of constant and variable pitch configurations, with widths ½" or less. Pitches range from 3 to 18 teeth per inch and are offered in positive rake, straight rake and wavy set/zero rake configurations.

Die Pro Blades Utilize bi-metal unique Saw Technology
The blade's design features triple-tempered M-42 high-speed steel teeth with 8% cobalt (HRc 67-69), combined with the Starrett-exclusive bi-metal unique® Saw Technology

Briefly, the technology joins two strips of high-speed steel wires to a backing steel in a solid phase, using the principle of solid-state diffusion bonding agent. This generates 170% more weld contact area compared to the existing bi-metal blades, significantly reducing fracture/breakage at the high-speed steel/backing material interface, for longer blade life.

Soon after initial use, the teeth develop a groove in the very thin center of the backing material, so the cutting stroke produces dual chips that are more easily removed, to provide faster cutting. (For more detail click:  bi-metal unique® Saw Technology)

By integrating bi-metal unique technology in Die Pro's design, users have a durable, long lasting blade that is suitable for a variety of applications.
