The latest addition to the Starrett line of power tool accessories is a line of bi-metal unique® saw blades for pneumatic (or air) reciprocating saws.
These saws are widely used in auto body shops, metal fabricating facilties, the sheet metal industry and a variety of other applications.
Compared to electric reciprocating saws, they are less bulky, safer in hazardous atmospheres and where wet conditions could cause an electric shock.
bi-metal unique Saw Technology The new line of Starrett Pneumatic blades utilize bi-metal unique® saw technology. This exclusive Starrett technology joins two strips of highspeed steel wires to a backing steel in a solid phase, using the principle of solid-state diffusion bonding.
It is totally different from traditional weld or laser bonding processes that rely on metal diffusion as the union agent at the interface. In controlled tests, on average, bi-metal unique cut 20% faster and lasted 22% longer than five other premium blades. (Click here to see the bi-metal unique article from the Spring 2007 Last Word).
