The L. S. Starrett Company manufactures tools to the highest standards of quality and workmanship.  Starrett employees are determined to ensure that every tool delivered to the hands of our customers is reliable and accurate and that the buying experience is satisfactory.  If you receive any tool that is found to be otherwise, please contact our customer service department to arrange the return of that tool. Any tool found to be defective in material or workmanship will at our discretion, be repaired or replaced, no charge.

We cannot replace or issue credit for tools that have been improperly used, stamped or mutilated. Additionally, we will not warrant tools that have been altered or repaired by personnel not authorized by The L. S. Starrett Company.  We will be pleased to quote a price to repair such tools.

Terms & Conditions

The L.S. Starrett Company accepts Visa, MasterCard or American Express.  Starrett does not add credit card surcharges and we do not rent, sell or otherwise forward your name to third party vendors.

All orders are subject to an address verification process. If a submitted billing address cannot be verified by a customer's financial institution, the order may be delayed or canceled.

To ensure that a package is delivered in a timely fashion to the correct address, completely and accurately fill out the Ship-To information.   We are unable to ship to P.O. Boxes, APO addresses, international addresses, US territories or Canada.

Under normal circumstances and with the exception of backordered items all orders will be shipped no later than 48 hours (2 working days) from time of placement. Please note that receipts for online orders reflect an order date based on Eastern Time.

All shipments will be made by UPS (United Parcel Service).  Online tracking information will be available once the shipment has been initiated. UPS will make all reasonable attempts to deliver your package to the intended recipient. In most cases UPS will likely require a signature at the time of delivery.  The decision to leave a package at a destination without signature is a driver's discretion.

The site price displayed at the time of your electronically submitted order is valid and will not change. Promotional codes are not valid with any other special offers.

Once an order is submitted, it cannot be changed.  All merchandise returns are subject to: Returns and Exchange policy.

Prices, specifications and product availability are subject to change without notice.

In compliance with state law, sales tax will be applied to product shipped to: AZ, CT, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TX and WA.

Returns and Exchanges

Errors in Ordering:  For erroneously ordered goods, you may return such goods to Starrett, whereupon Starrett will issue credit.  Our return provision mandates that (A) the returned goods have not been damaged or used and that they are in a pristine and resalable condition (Starrett’s sole discretion).  Tools must be current production models, and these models must match current design and finish. Custom-made or special order tools are not eligible for return. (B) An authorized proof of purchase is required for returned goods, (C) you have received a Return Merchandise Authorization from Starrett covering the returned goods, and (D) such returned goods are shipped properly to the following address within 30 days from the date of invoice:

For Shortage or Damage:  The buyer bears the responsibility for promptly and thoroughly inspecting all goods shipped by us for damage and shortage.  Before signing the carrier receipt, note the nature and extent of shortage or damage directly on the receipt.  In the event of either obvious or concealed damage, you must notify The L. S. Starrett Company within 15 days of receipt, retaining both the goods and the damaged packaging for possible inspection by the carrier.  In the event the carrier does not exercise its right to issue a damage call tag, you will return such damaged goods to us, packaged carefully and freight pre-paid by you, for inspection.  We will determine, at our discretion, whether the goods were, at the time of shipment F.O.B. our facilities, damaged.  The replacement of items may be made immediately if you so choose, but you will be invoiced.  Credit for the original net invoice price will be issued provided that the above conditions have been met.

(A)   STARRETT MAKES NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND DELIVERS ITS PRODUCTS “AS IS”.  STARRETT SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALSO SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY OTHER WARRANTY UNDER THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE AS IN EFFECT IN ANY STATE OF THE UNITED STATES.  NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO STATEMENTS OF QUALITY, SUITABILITY FOR USE OR PERFORMANCE, WHETHER MADE BY EMPLOYEES OR STARRETT OR ITS DISTRIBUTORS, WILL BE CONSIDERED A WARRANTY BY US FOR ANY PURPOSE OR CREATE ANY LIABILITY ON THE PART OF STARRETT.

(B)   If a customer believes that a Starrett product is defective in workmanship or material, the customer may return the product.  We may, but are and will be under no obligation to, inspect such product.  If, in our sole discretion and at our sole option, we inspect such product, and if we determine, in our sole discretion, that the returned product is defective as to workmanship or material, we may, in our sole discretion, repair or replace such product, or refund to the customer (by credit memo to the applicable distributor), the amount paid by our distributor.  NOTWITHSTANDING THE FOREGOING, STARRETT WILL BE UNDER NO OBLIGATION WHATSOEVER TO PROVIDE ANY SUCH REPAIR, REFUND OR REPLACEMENT, OR ANY OTHER REMEDY, TO ANY USER OF THE PRODUCTS IDENTIFIED IN THIS PRICE BOOK, UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER OR NOT SOUNDING IN TORT, PROPERTY, WARRANTY, CONTRACT OR OTHERWISE.  ANY REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF A PRODUCT, OR REFUND, BY CREDIT MEMO, OF ANY AMOUNT PAID THEREFOR, WILL BE PROVIDED IN STARRETT'S SOLE DISCRETION AND AT ITS SOLE OPTION.  IN NO EVENT WILL STARRETT BE LIABLE TO ANY USER OF THE PRODUCTS IDENTIFIED IN THIS PRICE BOOK FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, WHETHER OR NOT DIRECT, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL, OR IN THE NATURE OF ADDITIONAL COSTS, LOST REVENUE OR LOST PROFITS. 

(C)   Notwithstanding (A) and (B) above, and to the extent such warranties are not able to be disclaimed, Starrett herein provides all warranties to its customers as necessary to comply with applicable laws, but only to the extent such warranties are not able to be disclaimed by Starrett.

The L.S. Starrett Company may modify these terms and conditions at any time and such modifications will be effective as soon as the modified terms are posted. Accordingly, you should review these terms periodically, and your continued access or use of the site will be deemed your acceptance of the modified agreement.
